Vetter testified that she was shot three times that morning in the parking lot of Meadowlawn Apartments as she sat in Rethlake’s car. She showed jurors her wounds and explained how she was involved.
Vetter told jurors she was sitting in the passenger seat of the car when two men got out of a dark-colored car and opened fire. She said one bullet went into her shoulder and exited through her chest, while another bullet lodged in her thigh and the third went into her back and exited her stomach.
“I was in intensive care for a week,” she said.
Prior to the shooting, Vetter said she and Rethlake watched TV most of the night until they received a phone call from Matthews, who asked them to pick him up at Little Daddy’s strip club.
