The Chicago Tribune reported Sunday that Madigan met with Cohen on Friday and urged him to drop out of the race.
During the campaign, Cohen disclosed that a 2005 domestic battery charge against him had been dismissed. Since winning the nomination, more information about the charge was revealed, with the public learning the person who filed the charge was a prostitute who was Cohen’s girlfriend at the time. The charge was dropped after she failed to appear in court.
