Chicago Adult Entertainment: Beat 1713 CAPS recap: human trafficking, crime is down

… According to Elyse Dalberg, there are 27 million slaves in the United States, a lot of them child prostitutes. Dalberg went on to mention that the FBI has said that Chicago, over other cities in the US, has a problem with human trafficking. Dalberg cited an example of an incident she says happened very near here (cannot release address for obvious reasons) involving a 15 year old girl from Mexico. The young girl was lured to the states with the promise of lodging and the ability to go to school, but once she got to Chicago, the Mexican family took away her documentation and forbid her to leave the house. The girl cooked, cleaned, took care of the children, for $20 a week, which was sent home to her family.
