Chicago Strip Clubs: Channing Tatum, Rachel McAdams wow in ‘The Vow’

Working together offered a few surprises for the two actors.
“During our first meeting,” McAdams says, “he came bounding into the door with his three dogs who just about knocked me down. I was trying on dresses and he began to try the dresses on to break the ice.”
(“I try to be helpful,” Tatum interrupts.)
“He kept saying, ‘Rachel, I think I look better in this than you do,’” McAdams says. “Yes, he’s very helpful.”
Tatum, 31, who hails from Alabama, is pretty busy to be this helpful. He’s also at the multiplex in “Haywire” and next month stars in the big-screen version of “21 Jump Street.” Later in the year come “G.I. Joe: Retaliation” and “Magic Mike,” where he plays an upstart male stripper for director Steven Soderbergh.

Chicago Strip Clubs: Two Principals of Foreign Currency Trading Firm Sentenced for $17 Million …

According to the court documents, Martin acted as a principal of One World, even though he was prohibited from holding such a position with a National Futures Association member, and Walsh served as the president and primary manager of the trading firm. They marketed over the counter foreign currency (“forex”) trading services in which they were to serve as the customers’ counterparty. In reality, however, One World’s trading platform operated as a front to placate customers whose margin funds were being systematically misappropriated by them. They concealed the misappropriation from customers, as well as government and industry regulators, by making false representations. For example, they solicited new customers without telling them that the value of their investments with One World would be immediately diminished upon deposit due to a shortfall in One World’s customer trading account.
The defendants used customer funds they misappropriated to finance extravagant lifestyles. Credit card and bank records show that Martin spent more than $1 million at a strip club and restaurants, nearly $ …

Chicago Strip Clubs: Dawn Patrol: Woman killed in Palatine crash; strip club owners charged

An SUV traveled about 5 miles in the wrong direction on the outbound Stevenson Expressway before crashing into another car at a Lake Shore Drive connecting ramp in Chicago at about 3 a.m. Friday. The drivers of both vehicles were taken to Northwestern Memorial Hospital with injuries that didn’t appear life-threatening, officials said. Alcohol is said to have played a part in the crash.
Blackjacks owners accused of hiding income
The operators of the Elgin-area Blackjacks Gentlemen’s Club were charged with federal tax offenses and operating three illegal gambling websites, federal officials announced yesterday. Anthony Buttitta, 42, of St. Charles, and Dominic Buttitta, 69, of South Barrington each were charged with one count of conspiracy to defraud the United States by obstructing the Internal Revenue Service and one count of operating an illegal gambling business, according to the Office of U.S. Attorney Patrick Fitzgerald. Former Glencoe resident Charles G. Martin was living the dream. From 2005-07, he spent more than $1 million at a strip club and restaurants, nearly $1 million at elite hotels, and another $1 million renting flight time on private jets. He purchased a fleet of luxury vehicles, including a $375,000 Bentley; donated hundreds of thousands of dollars to celebrity charity events, and hired personal security guards to accompany him in public.
Things will be quite different for the 46-year-old come March 29, when he begins serving a 17-year prison term for running a Ponzi-type scheme that bilked more than 1,000 investors out of more than $17 million, according to the U.S. Attorney’s office.

Chicago Strip Clubs: From Heights to ‘Gypsy’

From Heights to ‘Gypsy’
Two talents both named Andrea appear on the same musical stage
by Bob Jaderberg
staff reporter
Two actresses named Andrea — both graduates of Independence Junior High School in Palos Heights — are playing sisters in a regional stage production of a musical classic.
Andrea Prestinario and Andrea Collier are appearing in the play “Gypsy” through April 1 at the Drury Lane Theatre in Oakbrook Terrace.
Prestinario and Collier play Louise and June, the daughters of Rose Hovick who is determined to turn at least one of her girls into a vaudeville star. The play and the 1962 movie of the same name were based upon the memoirs of the real Gypsy Rose Lee, a burlesque stripper.
Collier, 25, knew early on she wanted to be a performer.

Chicago Strip Clubs: Joan Rivers vs. Chelsea Handler; Spartacus: Vengeance creator defends sex …

A Brooklyn couple is suing celebrity wedding planner and reality-TV personality David Tutera, the New York Post reported. Wendylee Perez and Hector Santana say they hired Tutera for $15,000, and the My Fair Wedding star told them the price included “anything and everything that is needed” for their wedding in the Dominican Republic. However, that price tag wound up not including him or items such as invitations, a DJ and wedding cakes, they contend.

Chicago Strip Clubs: Blackhurst’s Rose is ferocious heart of ‘Gypsy’

That’s the dynamic that sets the stage for Rose’s Turn, one of the best 11 o’clock showstoppers in the history of musical theater. The song is a tornado of emotion, a nervous breakdown in music as Rose questions just why she’s spent the past 20 years striving in show biz. And while it’s unique to her situation, it’s also painfully universal. Anyone who has ever broken their back and/or their heart only to see someone else reap the rewards will relate.
Blackhurst may be the indomitable backbone of Gypsy, but she’s bolstered by an excellent supporting cast. Andrea Prestinario’s Louise makes a believable transition from awkward ugly duckling to vivacious high society swan. And as Herbie, Rose’s through-thick-and-through-thin partner (that is, until she prods Louise into disrobing), David Kortemeier is an understated bulwark of strength and loyalty.
With choreography by Tammy Mader, the trio of strippers in “You Gotta Get a Gimmick” succeed in bringing down the house, particularly the Amazonian bump-it-with-a-trumpet strutting of Cheryl Sylvester Avery as Miss Mazeppa. With Susan Lubeck as the refined Tessie Tura and Francis Asher as the electrifying Electra, it’s a novelty number to stop the show.

Chicago Strip Clubs: Missing Teen’s Case Gone Cold?

… There’s all these cases in Chicago where (suspects) end up making false confessions to get away from (the police),” Skemp said. “They never even put any pressure on him.”
As far as Vince and Amy Mellon’s whereabouts, Skemp said the last he heard they were living in Tennessee. Amy Mellon’s listed telephone number in Cleveland, TN, now rings a bank in that state.
Vince Mellon has a warrant for his arrest in Will County in connection with a 2005 drunken driving crash. He pleaded guilty to the charge but failed to comply with the terms of his sentence.
The drunken driving arrest stemmed from a wreck in Romeoville. Vince Mellon was pulling out of the Crazy Rock strip club when he collided with a car driven by Shorewood Patch movie critic Dave Wilson, who was heading home from work.
