The ads on Craigslist offer a “licensed beautiful Asian staff giving you a warm therapeutic massage.” The Cook County Sheriff’s police say that it was a house of prostitution.
Christy Chin, 37, of Northbrook, the alleged owner of Therapy Spa at 3334 W Peterson Ave. in Chicago was charged with keeping a place of prostitution, prostitution and giving a massage without a license.
The charges are the result of an undercover operation by the Cook County Sheriff’s police in which Chin allegedly offered to perform a sex act on an undercover officer on his second visit to the spa. No offer was made on the officer’s first visit; it was made after he became a returning client.
Chin is scheduled to be in court in Skokie on April 30 and Chicago officials are looking into if the spa was properly licensed.

Chicago – The owner of a Northwest Side massage clinic is charged with prostitution after she allegedly offered sex to an undercover cop.
Cook County Sheriff’s Police arrested Kristy Chin this weekend at Therapy Spa, 3334 W. Peterson.  They say Chin offered to perform a sex act on an officer who was posing as a returning client. 
Chin is charged with prostitution and performing a massage without a license.
She’ll be in court in April.

The owner of a North Side massage parlor was arrested on prostitution charges after she offered to perform sex acts on an undercover Cook County sheriff’s officer, officials said today.
Christy Chin, 37, of Northbrook, who is believed to be the owner of Therapy Spa, 3334 W. Peterson Ave., was charged with prostitution, keeping a place of prostitution and performing a massage without a license, Cook County Sheriff’s officials said in a press release.
Chin was arrested Saturday after she offered to perform a sex act on the undercover officer. The arrest occurred on the officer’s second visit to the parlor. On the first visit Chin did not offer sex to the undercover officer but did so on the second visit after the officer became a returning client, officials said.
Sheriff’s investigators are working with city officials to determine whether Chin’s business was properly licensed, officials said.

• Stephanie M. Roberts, 18, of the 2100 block of West Belmont Avenue, Chicago, was arrested around 11:30 a.m. Feb. 26 at T.J. Maxx, 19B Golf Road, and charged with retail theft. She was found with a bottle of perfume, reports said. Her court date is March 10.

• Rebecca J. Zeller, 23, of the 700 block of Ellwood Avenue, DeKalb, was arrested around 9:40 p.m. Feb. 24 at the Radisson Hotel, 1725 E. Algonquin Road, and charged with prostitution after an undercover officer answered her online ad, reports said. Her court date is April 5.

… A resident reported that a burglary occurred sometime between 3 p.m. and 7 p.m. on Feb. 24 in the 1200 block of Johnson Drive. The victim told police that when she returned home, she found that her patio sliding doors were wide open. The resident then noticed that her 32″ flat screen TV was missing. A further check revealed that a Sony digital camera, a Dell laptop computer, a remote control and a Wii sensor bar were also missing.

• Ollie B. Hampton, 25, of the 1600 block of Harold Avenue, Louisville, Ky., and Taylor N. Wilander, 20, of the 1100 block of Sale Avenue, Louisville, Ky., were arrested around 12:15 a.m. Feb. 27 at the Extended Stay America Hotel, 1201 E. Touhy Ave. Hampton was charged with city ordinance keeping a house of prostitution; Wilander was charged with city ordinance prostitution. Their court date is March 19.

Best bet to see Rochelle would be in the third and final act of Saturday’s performance by the Chicago-based Second City cast. That one is totally improvised, unlike the first two acts, which feature classic SC sketches, doctored with suggestions from the crowd.
“Hopefully, something will present itself,” Quercioli said. “I don’t preplan, but I know that if I did [do Rochelle], there’d be a couple of people in the audience who’d get a real big kick out of it.”
Rochelle is one of the reasons Quercioli loves what she does, even though she’s leaving the Second City troupe after this tour to further her career.
“Here’s this plain-Jane goody-two-shoes from Chesterland who can be a doctor or a nun or a prostitute or a million other things, and nobody’s going to tell me it was wrong,” said Quercioli. Improv, she said, is a “way to be myself, but through all these different characters I could play.”

Rod Blagojevich and an out-of-work technician who answered the question ”Why are you a Democrat?” with ”Who said I was?”
Democrats are looking for a replacement for Chicago pawnbroker Scott Lee Cohen, who left the race less than a week after winning the primary election amid accusations he abused his ex-wife and held a knife to the throat of an ex-girlfriend who was later arrested for prostitution. Cohen has denied the allegations, and charges stemming from his arrest were dropped when the ex-girlfriend didn’t show up in court.

Amazingly, fellow Democrats Debbie Leftwich (Oklahoma City) and Sean Burrage (Claremore) voted against Adelson and Rice. Sen. Randy Brogdon, R-Owasso led the fight to kill the resolution.
Why shouldn’t retailers be able to sell beer and wine when and wherever they want?
America tried prohibition and it didn’t work.
Society has a duty to restrict things that hurt people. And alcohol can hurt people – not only those who drink but their families, their employers, their friends and motorists.
There is a good reason why you can’t walk into a convenience store and order a cocktail. Common sense tells us that you should not be allowed to drive your car on public streets while drinking alcohol.
Selling booze in every store in town creates more problems than it solves. Rice and Adelson and their ilk got casino gambling. Now they want the booze to flow. What’s next? Legalized prostitution?

I see Illinois State University’s Reggie Redbird getting in on the Disney action and dressing me in my so-out-they-are-in cargo pants that I have had to sleep in on the nasty carpet at O’Hare during many airport snowstorms. I see University of Minnesota’s Goldy Gopher, with his scary teeth, pulling my roller bag out of the closet. I see Northwestern University’s Willie Wildcat fluffing my naturally curly hair, I see Wisconsin’s Bucky Badgerthe sexiest of all the masc …

In other news, the Blackhawks acquired another defenseman tonight.  They traded perennial all star Future Considerations to the Ducks for Nick Boynton.  The Hawks immediately sent him down for Rockford.  That could mean they are simply building depth in case of an injury, or they could be preparing a package for a trade tomorrow. 
Either way, Boynton is a reliable 6th or 7th defenseman who can play physical, and is a decent enough skater.  I’d bet we’ll see him on the big club sooner or later.
